Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is commonly seen as one of the most complex but favored poker variations. It’s a game that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites play from every level of players. This is the main reason why a once invisible game, has increased in popularity so rapidly.
Omaha/8 begins exactly like a regular game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to every player. A sequence of wagering follows where gamblers can wager, check, or fold. Three cards are handed out, this is known as the flop. Another sequence of wagering happens. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or folded, a further card is flipped on the turn. a further sequence of betting ensues and then the river card is flipped. The players will need to put together the best high and low five card hands based on the board and hole cards.
This is where some players get baffled. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, in which the board can make up everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi low the player has to utilize precisely 3 cards from the board, and precisely two hole cards. No more, not a single card less. Unlike regular Omaha, there are two ways a pot might be won: the "high hand" or the "lower hand."
